Front teeth (incisors)

The four teeth most visible when you speak and smile. Colour differences, chipped corners, gaps and the gum line come up most often here.

This chart is not an assessment tool; only an examination — and imaging where needed — can say what is happening on a given tooth. What you read here is simply what comes up most often in that area.

Digital dentistry

We measure rather than estimate

A digital workflow is not a showcase. It narrows the margin for error, shortens treatment and lets us show you what will be done before it is done.

  1. Panoramic radiography, done digitally

Both jaws are imaged with a low radiation dose; decay, impacted teeth and bone level are all assessed together in a single image.

  2. A scan instead of an impression

Digital scanning replaces traditional impression putty. It's more comfortable for patients with a pronounced gag reflex and gives the laboratory data accurate to the micron.

  3. Seeing the new smile on screen together

For aesthetic treatments, the proposed tooth length and shape are reviewed together on screen before any work begins.

  4. Guided implant placement

Implant angle and depth are worked out in advance from tomography data, so placement follows that plan during the procedure.

  5. A live view with an intraoral camera

A small camera magnifies the tooth surface onto the screen; decay, a crack or a worn filling can be reviewed together during the exam.

Radiographic imaging is performed only when clinically necessary and at the lowest reasonably achievable dose.

Patient safety

Sterilisation: unseen, and the most important work we do

Every instrument used in the clinic follows a traceable route. We describe that chain here, because it is what a patient should know without having to ask.

  1. First step: disinfection

As soon as instruments leave the treatment room, they go straight into a disinfectant solution.

  2. Second step: ultrasonic cleaning

Residue too small to see is removed mechanically in an ultrasonic bath.

  3. Third step: pouching and sterilisation

Each instrument is individually pouched and sterilised in a 134 °C steam autoclave.

  4. Final step: checking the indicator

Each pouch's sterilisation indicator is checked before use, and the pouch is opened in front of you.

Oral care

The brushing game: 32 teeth in 40 seconds

Move the brush over the teeth and clear the plaque off all of them before time runs out. The back teeth carry thicker plaque — exactly as they do in real life.

  • Twice daily, two minutes each time

Cut brushing short and some tooth surfaces never get reached. Two minutes is the minimum time needed to work around to every surface.

  • Don't skip the spaces between teeth

A toothbrush reaches only about two thirds of the tooth surface. The remaining gaps need floss or an interdental brush — that's exactly where most decay starts.

  • It's the angle that matters, not the force

Pressing hard damages enamel and gums. Hold the brush at roughly a 45-degree angle to the gum line and move it in small circular motions.

  • A check-up twice a year

Decay caught early is finished in a single visit; left unattended, it can progress to needing root canal treatment. A check-up is always shorter and easier than the treatment that follows neglect.

The game is for fun and does not replace an examination or treatment. Real brushing is twice a day, two minutes each time.
